Stunning and chic, Cortina d’Ampezzo is exactly what you would expect a classy Italian ski resort to be. The slopes are extremely well cared for and you will find the streets of town lined with lovely restaurants and upmarket shops. Surrounded by awesome, near vertical, cliffs the resort enjoys a fabulous setting and no matter whether you want to spend your days on or off the slopes there is plenty to see and do. There is a variety of accommodation in the town, so whether you are staying for a week long holiday or just a weekend break you will find something to match your requirements. Having hosted the 1956 Olympics and also featured in several films, including James Bond’s ‘For your eyes only’, the town is used to proving a welcome to visitors and you can be confident that even if you aren’t an Olympian or a super-spy you’ll have a great time in Cortina. The local ski area has much to offer all levels of skier. Beginners and early intermediates will find lots to enjoy, with lots of terrain designed for making the beautiful people look even better! The resort is a great place in which to improve technique, the slopes often being free of crowds and well maintained. There is an abundance of intermediate cruising terrain, with some great skiing around Tofani, Faloria and Cinque Torri. Experts and the more adventurous can use the resort’s links into the Dolomiti ski domain, which opens up plenty of challenges for all.
