With an envious location, nestled beneath the dramatic peaks of Mont Blanc, Courmayeur is a charming mountain village with access to an impressive ski area not to be missed. Its close proximity to a number of other resorts, including Chamonix and La Thuile, is another one of its major appeals.The skiing in Courmayeur is ideal for intermediates with wide open bowls, some challenging bumps and many more varied and tree-lined runs to practice on. Advanced skiers looking for more ambitious terrain can explore the off-piste possibilities, which are greatly improved with the use of a guide or helicopter. There are some nursery slopes for beginners, but these can often be crowded and many blues are quite steep.
