I recently visited Flaine for a week in April 2008. As a beginner who had never skied before I found the resort extremely good. My ski tuition was excellent and I had 2.5 hours a day which alternated between mornings and afternoons. By the end of the week I had completed both green and blue runs. There was a range of après ski with plenty of pubs, swimming pool and bowling all available. There was plenty of snow and it snowed quite a bit while we were there.

Flaine - great snow great skiing
We had a few days skiing at the end of January in Flaine and found the ski area had plenty to offer. You could spend all week just skiing the Flaine bowl but the wider Grand Massif opens up a huge number of pistes. On our last day we did the "Grand Massif challenge" to ski as many different pistes and take as many different lifts as possible. In all we did 18 lifts and 23 pistes with only one lift duplicated. This included a long lunch stop at the Igloo restaurant above Morillon. We stayed at www.flaineapartment.co.uk which was just great and very accessible to the lifts in Flaine Foret.
