Garmisch-Partenkirchen is Germany's top winter sports resort and it is easy to see why. There are over 60 km of well-prepared pistes that provide almost perfect snow from November to May. There is a good balance of different ability slopes ranging from the easy for beginners to the demanding for the more experienced skier. The resort boasts a modern lift system and offers beautiful views of the Bavarian mountains. Garmisch - Partenkirchen's skiing is spread over 4 separate areas containing over 60km of slopes, with 3 green runs, 10 blue, 25 red and 4 black. The Zugspitze area represents the highest skiing in Germany and has Germany's only glacier skiing.
