Keystone - Introduction

Only about 20 minutes' drive, on the free shuttle service from Breckenridge, lies Keystone, a quieter and more sedate resort than the lively party town of Breckenridge. Keystone offers a safe and welcoming environment both on and off the slopes and is an ideal location for families. Keystone spans 7 miles along the Snake River and encompasses three spectacular mountains - Dercum Mountain, North Peak and The Outback. Keystone also features award winning dining, vibrant villages and the opportunity to try night skiing which, in these surroundings, is an experience not to be missed. The resort village, River Run, is at the base of the mountain where you will find all the shops, restaurants and nightlife. Lift passes for Keystone are also valid at Breckenridge, Vail, Beaver Creek and Arapahoe Basin.
Skiing
Keystone lies at 2,885m, and some of its skiing is as high as 3,718m! When considering your vacation, a night in Denver to acclimatise could be a good idea. The area has three mountains and has built a reputation on the quality of its piste grooming and snowmaking. Excellent for beginners and Intermediates and being a family friendly resort there are many other activities available. Skiers should make use of the buses to nearby Arapahoe-Basin and Breckenridge. The snow record is very strong, due to the high altitude. North peak is the place to go for challenging moguls and steep slopes plus the Outback is known for its bowls and tree skiing.
Snowboarding
A51 Terrain Park has increased in size each season and is under lights and has features for all abilities including a half pipe and super pipe. Freeriders can enjoy the many open runs and trees of the Outback.
Ski Schools
Kids, Adults, Skiing, Snowboarding, Beginner, Expert, Corduroy, Bumps, Park, Pipe' Powder, Group or private lessons. All options are available with the local Ski School.
Eating Out
There are a great selection of family friendly restaurants, with the Great Northern Tavern brewing its own beer. Some of the best restaurants in Colorado are found right here, from relaxing places for a quick refuelling to vibrant après ski spots where you can rendezvous with friends to acclaimed fine dining. It’s not everywhere that you can take a moonlight gondola ride to a fondue dinner, or sip award-winning wines next to a roaring stone-hearth fire. But you can do all this and more at Keystone. Many of the restaurants at Keystone Resort require advanced reservations. Especially for The Ski Tip Lodge, Der Fondue Chessel, Alpenglow Stube, Champeaux, Keystone Ranch, Big Horn Steakhouse or the Summit Seafood Company.
Bars and clubs
There are a varied number of restaurants, bars, and clubs that provide you with enough nightlife to last well beyond midnight. So take in some live music, hit the dance floor, or just throw back some cold ones with friends and family.
Off the slopes
There are lots of other activities to participate in throughout your stay at Keystone, including Ice skating, Tubing, scenic gondola rides, sleigh rides and snowshoeing. If you prefer something away from the snow, why not try a little wine tasting, yoga, swimming or simply relax at the Keystone Lodge Spa and Fitness centre.
