LIVIGNO - Information

Comprising of 3 villages, spread out over a 3 mile stretch, Livigno is one of the highest resorts with access to one of the largest ski areas in the region. The village has an authentic mountain feel to it, with traditional architecture and pretty, pleasant streets. The resort benefits from being duty free and as a result there are a plethora of shops selling perfume, cigarettes, alcohol and cameras. The high altitude skiing is spread out over both sides of the valley and offers excellent intermediate skiing. There are numerous nursery slopes for beginners to start on with lovely easy cruising blues to progress onto, although some can have steep bits so be aware! The majority of the runs are perfect for intermediate skiers, from leisurely, wide and sunny terrains above tree level, to steep reds. Even the black runs would be suitable for most. Thrills are limited for experienced skiers looking for more challenges than the blacks have to offer as off-piste skiing is officially banned throughout the resort, without a guide.
