Obergurgl Reviews

Stayed in Obergurgl in Jan 2007 at Madelaine Hotel. Hotel 10 minute walk to the Gaisberg Lift, we rented our ski's from Scheiber Sports at the Eidelweiss Hotel, right next to the Gaisberg lift. Great service from them and superb ski's and boots etc. We were able to leave our ski's there at the end of the day and walk home in comfort which was brilliant. There isn't too much going on at night, but to be honest we only went out a couple of nights anyway after dinner. The Nederhutte is fabulous for apres ski and great food. The skidoo will take you down the slopes if you've had a few too many snapps!! Good selection of shops, and a couple of supermarkets. The Madelaine was excellent and we have just re booked for this January, having said that I think all the hotels in Obergurgl are of really good quality. Worth making the effort for the Ski instructers night show on Tuesday, fireworks, gluwein and excellent show from the experts. All in all great resort, if a little bit expensive. My only gripe would be the grading of some pistes, but then we are fairly nervous and quite new to skiing.
