VAUJANY - Introduction

Combining tradition and modernity, Vaujany is an authentic mountain village that offers state-of-the-art facilities for enjoying grandiose landscapes in a cheerful, well-preserved natural setting. In addition to the skiing in Vaujany itself (46km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski lift pass opens up the other Grandes Rousses ski resorts of Alpe d'Huez, Auris-en-Oisans, Oz-en-Oisans and Villard Reculas, with access to over 273 individual pistes.
Skiing
Vaujany offers good skiing particularly, for intermediate and beginner skiers. For those looking for slightly more challenging terrain, what was the world’s largest cable car can be taken to quickly transport you into the heart of the Alpe d’Huez and the extensive and world class skiing it has to offer.
Snowboarding
Nearby Alpe d’Huez is a mecca for freeriding and a perfect playground for snowboarders. The extent and variety of terrain throughout the Grandes Rousses is great for all levels of snowboarders. There are also 2 snowparks to choose from, a gentle one and a more challenging one, as well as a boarder cross course.
Ski Schools
The Ecole du Ski Francais offers a great range of courses to suit all ages and abilities.
Eating Out
There are several restaurants and snack bars in the resort offering good value for money and great choice of local specialities and favourites such as pizza and salads.
Bars and clubs
The après-ski scene is subdued in Vaujany but there are a few bars where you can go to enjoy a beer at the end of a hard day on the slopes. There is also a nightclub which is popular and often plays great music.
Off the slopes
This tranquil resort has a relaxed feel to it off the slopes. There is a leisure centre with swimming pool, spa and steam room and also an ice skating rink.
